Canicross & Bikejoring

These sports are a great way to enjoy time with your dog and using your own fitness as well.

Bike-Joring is where the dog is attached to the bike by a ‘gangline’ line fitted with a bungy, to help absorb  the shock when the dog is pulling. The line is then attached to the dogs harness. You are allowed to pedal, but your dog must stay in front of the bike. A real test of both rider and dog fitness.

Canicross has the same basic set-up as Bike-Joring, the only difference is the dog is attached to you! Canicross is really exhilarating having your dog pull you swiftly along, the power of the dog pulling you feels like you are barely touching the ground between steps.

This year in 2020, we are running a Cani-X Series Event. This beginner event is a series of 4 races (see our Calendar for dates and locations). All races are 2-3 km. Gold-coin donation to enter these timed events. Final race joined with the Spectacle Fun Event and prize-giving to follow. All dogs to run on harness and walking belt for humans recommended. Suitable for older children and adults alike.
